I'm always paranoid of straps and laces getting caught up in places you don't want them to. If training for Tris, you can practice your T1 / T2 transitions before and after your spinning workout, which is nice. When I recommend indoor cycling shoes or spinning shoes, I point out pretty much everything you said here. I always stress price, if it's their first pair and if they're just starting indoor cycling. People get into and out of hobbies and fitness trends so fast. But, with cycling shoes, you can get a pair for cycling outdoors on the road and mountain and use them indoors as well, like you said. I like to do this before a race or important ride just to get use to my shoes if the weather is cold and I'm forced to ride and train indoors. Great site, btw! I like how you broke everything down.
