Does Yoga Provide
The ‘Perfect Trifecta
For Cyclists?

A Tale Of Two Chiropractors…

portraitwithmask 150x150 Does Yoga Provide The Perfect Trifecta For Cyclists?
Not too long ago I went over to my friend Jim’s Chiropractic office to exchange treatments with him (I’ve been a Chiropractor for 23 years and he’s been one for about 5 years more than that).

While laying face down on his treatment table he said to me (again!) that I really should do yoga; because I’m so darn tight.

Yea, right! Like that’s ever going to happen.

He even went so far as to say that if he was ‘King of the World’ he’d have everyone do yoga once a day, just like they brush and floss their teeth.

On many different levels I knew that would never happen for me.

I had a few problems with the ‘Yoga’ idea!

Problem #1, What’s Yoga got that’s so special?

I wasn’t sure that what yoga has to offer is different than just the same amount of time spent stretching.

What’s the big deal with yoga?

Maybe you’re wondering the same thing.

Recently, I found out that yoga is a combination of three ‘critical element’ in exercise… A PERFECT TRIFECTA?. More on that later…

I’ll explain these essential factors to maximizing your results from exercising in a few minutes.

Especially the need for PROPRIOCEPTION! That’s what the whole section below entitled ‘Problem #1 Solution…’ is all about.

Problem #2, I don’t have extra time!

Chiropractor Jim’s a life-long bachelor with a good amount of time on his hands.

He does yoga regularly and he’s actually pretty limber, telling me that he walks the planet pain-free even though he’s knocking on 60 years old.

Good for him!

But time’s not something I have a lot of. Actually, if I can’t start getting the benefits of exercise (like riding or running) as soon as I leave the front door, I don’t like it one bit.

I even balk at putting my bike in a rack on the back of my car and driving fifteen minutes to start a ride somewhere other than my own driveway.

I knew I’d never spend an extra fifteen minutes traveling each way to and from a yoga class.

Problem #3, I’m not happy sitting on the floor surrounded by Yogis.

I live in a ‘Mini-Sedona’ type of town.

We’re one of the last bastions of people wearing tie-dyed t-shirts and formless pants that hang like they’re made of discarded gunny sacks.

I sure as heck couldn’t see myself sitting cross-legged on the floor, shoulder to shoulder with a group of ‘mellow people’… who all share an aversion to body-odor suppression.

  • But I’ve Found An Easy-To-Follow, Breakthrough Program
That Has The Answer To All Three Of These Problems
  • It’s Called – Runners Yoga, ‘it’s not just for runners’

With the Runner’s Yoga Program you’ll…

*Burn Fat.

*Build Core Strength.

*Improve Your Balance And Posture.

*Dramatically increase Your Flexibility.

*Get A Cardiovascular Workout.

*Strengthen and Tone every major muscle in your body.

*Improve your Mental Focus and melt away Stress.

Problem #1 Solution…
Yoga DOES
Combine Three Essential Elements:
A Perfect Trifecta

This next section is a bit long…but you’d do well to read it because THIS is where the exercise physiologists are headed. Don’t get left behind…

Last year I went to another Chiropractic conference which demonstrated ONCE AGAIN that the way to do exercises is to do them while balancing on an unstable base (like on one foot).

That’s right, there are tremendous benefits to doing your exercises like the yogis have been doing theirs for centuries.

Look at it like this…

There’s a NEUROGENIC component to building effective muscle tone in your core muscles. ‘Neuro’ means from the nervous system, and ‘Genic’ means origin (or beginning).

A muscle contraction must be initiated by the nervous system in order for it to be OF ANY USE …That’s why trying to get strong muscles by merely sitting around hooked up to a electrical muscle stim machine doesn’t build muscle. The signal has to be NEUROGENIC.

…and the more input to the muscle, the better.

In other words, in order for your core muscles to stabilize effectively, there must be a lot of neurological input while you’re exercising. This occurs most effectively when you’re doing your stretches and strengthening exercises the way the yoga people do.

Not at a weight machine, but instead while trying to keep from tipping over onto your face.

Here’s another way to understand the intense NEUROGENIC barrage that occurs when you make yourself into an ‘unstable object’ while you’re exercising yogi-style.

It’s like a rocket blasting off…

When a rocket lifts off it’s not very stable! What keeps it from veering off, angling into a downward arch, and plummeting into the ocean?

It’s because little ‘adjustments’ are continuously being made by the on-board computers.

The computers are the ‘NEUROLOGY’ of the system and they’re firing little guidance thrusters ‘off and on’ too fast for the naked eye to see (or anything else that happens to be naked).

That’s how it is with your body when it isn’t on a solid base (ie. doing your exercises on one leg…yoga-style)

The NEUROGENIC input from your nervous system to your muscles to keep you from toppling over is OVERWHELMING.

And that’s one of the big reasons that YOGA IS SO EFFECTIVE!

A BARRAGE of NEUROGENIC signals, too fast to even monitor, while you attempt to balance is what makes yoga so unique!

If it wasn’t so old, we’d call yoga ground-breaking.

And the scientists in Exercise Physiology are coming to the same conclusion with their little electrical probes and ‘milli-second measuring’ computers.

So yoga exercises aren’t just a way to show off! They’re actually on the leading edge of science, with science trying to catch up!

Yoga achieves the Perfect Trifecta: Stretching, Strengthening, and a Neurogenic barrage of input from the brain, essential for maximum results!

Let’s Sum Up What Makes Yoga So Powerful

  • Yoga’s got neurogenic input in it’s favor. This can’t be over-emphasized!
  • What the ‘ancients of old’ hit upon centuries ago, is now being proven by science to provide astonishing results.

Problem #2 Solution…
Yoga Doesn’t Have Eat Up Time
YOU’D RATHER SPEND
RIDING YOUR BIKE!

What about the time factor?

Like I said, if I have to spend time

getting ready to go to a class…

traveling to a class…

waiting for the class to start…

doing the class…

blabbing a bit after the class…

traveling home after the class…

and then parking the car after I pull into the garage…

I won’t keep going to a yoga class for very long!

Van Clayton Powel (who’s taught yoga to thousands of people) discovered the same problem!

So he developed a 30 minute program to be done at home, with expert guidance (so that you don’t hurt yourself), and without wasting any time turning your core strengthening exercises into a social event.

  • Maximum benefits…minimal time investment!

Problem #3 Solution…
You Can Harness Yoga’s
Benefits
WITHOUT IMMERSING YOURSELF
In The Entire Yoga Culture.

My aversion to getting together with your stereo-typic yoga people is half joking, and half the result of soul-searching honesty.

I’m just a regular (what’s regular?) guy who needs to stretch and stabilize my back as effectively as possible.

Yoga’s been ‘mainstream’ for a long time now, and even more so when it’s done on ‘home turf’.

When I can do yoga in an environment (like my own home) with or without people who I’m comfortable around, so much the better!

There’s A Reason The Program’s 30 minutes Long

  • Van’s well-developed 30 minute at-home yoga program allows me to do my exercises on my own schedule, and on my own turf.

Here are Van Clayton Powel’s own words-

“I’ve taught yoga to thousands of people. From Olympic Champions and Coaches, to Grandparents with back problems.

And over the years I noticed something: As great as you’ll feel when you practice yoga (Provided you’re taught properly!), you’ll probably stop practicing for one simple reason – you just don’t have enough time in your busy schedule.”

And Another Thing… I’m not too excited about shelling out money month after month for a fitness membership.

Once you’ve invested in the ‘Runners Yoga – it’s not just for runners’ program, you’re done with the expenses and you’re in line for any upgrades as they’re introduced, free of charge.

  • Be sure to watch the video on his site that explains what he’s done to solve these problems.
  • There are over thirty testimonials on his site…everyone from Pro Athletes, to Business Owners, to Busy Moms. In case you missed them, a small sampling of the testimonials are on the right sidebar of this page…
  • Van’s program has a 60 day MONEY-BACK guarantee, so he’s assuming all the risk if for some reason the program doesn’t work for you.
